Shirley Frost

Shirley Ann (Krysak) Frost age 72, of Berlin, passed away Saturday March 28, 2020 with her family by her side. Shirley was born on November 28, 1947 to the late Carl and Isabelle (Nowak) Krysak in Sheboygan Wisconsin. Shirley graduated North High School in 1965 where she was proud to be a member of the National Honor Society. Shirley graduated St. Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee in 1968. Shirley (a city girl} married the love of her life (a farmer) Richard Frost of Berlin, Wisconsin on September 28, 1968 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She moved to Berlin where they raised their three beautiful daughters. Shirley was employed at Berlin Memorial Hospital (CHN) for 44 years. Over the years, she played a lot of different roles. Staff nurse which allowed her to work on the Med-Surgical Unit, OB, and Emergency Room. She had also been a night shift supervisor, Head Nurse of the medical and OB unit, Director of Patient Services and Director of Education. While Shirley was working at the Hospital, raising three girls and helping out on the farm, she continued her education at UW Oshkosh to earn her BSN in 1989 and her MSN in 1996. Shirley was also employed part-time at UW Oshkosh for 20 years. She taught the Collage of Nursing "boot camp". She enjoyed and looked forward to this accelerated program considering it an honor to teach future nurses. Shirley was an overachiever to say the least. She was part of the All Saints Catholic Parish funeral circle, took part in choosing a recipient of the Ann Marie Frost Arb Scholarship every year in honor of her daughter, was a member of the St. Dominic Group, Wisconsin Council of Nurse Manager (WNM), Wisconsin Organization of Nurse Executives (WONE), Wisconsin Society for Health Education and Training (WISHET), ETA Pi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, and St. Mary's School of Nursing Alumni. Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandson Trevor. She loved to travel to such places as Alaska and Hawaii. She packed up the family many summers to travel across the states. She enjoyed her time with friends, playing cards, shopping, gambling and of course she would always do something to make us all laugh. She enjoyed yelling at the Packers and cheering on the Brewers and was known to partake in a tailgate or two. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Richard (Frosty) of Berlin. Daughters, Julie Lynn (Kyle} Kapugia of Waukesha, WI, and Cheryl Lee (Eric) Hallingstad of Cottage Grove, WI; son-in-law, Allan Arb (Maya) of Las Vegas, NV; honorary daughter, Lisa Broske Godin (David) of Ellentown, FL; grandchild, Trevor Kapugia; grandchildren-in-law, Kayla, and Ryan; sister, Betty (Robert) Dombroski of Green Bay, WI; brother, Jerry (JoAnne) Krysak of Sheyboygan, WI; sister-in-law, Christine {Butch) Beck of Berlin,WI; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Isabelle Krysak; daughter, Ann Marie Arb; sister, Carol Hey; in-laws, Raymond and Isabelle Frost. Shirley will be missed dearly by family, friends, colleagues and all those she mentored. Funeral services with the mass of Christian Burial will be held June 5, 2020 at 10:00 am at All Saints Parish in Berlin with Father David Greenfield officiating. Family and friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening, June 4, 2020 from 4-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m.at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, certain precautions will be introduced at both the funeral home and church. Face masks are required, temperatures will be taken at the door, social distancing and no contact will be monitored and respected throughout the visitation and service. Also, in following the CDC guidelines, there will be no luncheon or fellowship following services. Private family inurnment will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery of Berlin. A memorial has been established in Shirley’s honor.
