Mr. Martin Etrick

Martin Neal Etrick, age 85, of Berlin, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2014, at the Patriot Place of Berlin, where he has resided at for the past year and a half.He was born on February 27, 1929, in Berlin, the son of Frank Martin and Esther Anna (Pigorsch) Etrick.He attended Berlin High School and then served his country in the U.S. NAVY.Martin is a member of the All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin.He had resided in California for many years where he was employed as a butcher and meat cutter, owned a grocery store, bought and sold mobile homes, was a landlord, he had a love of music and dancing of which he went three times a week up until three and a half years ago.He also loved collecting antiques, going to swap meets, shopping at grocery stores comparing prices, loved traveling and always had a camper or RV ready to go. He was very proud of his ministry and mentor for prisoners and Alcoholic's Anonymous groups for over 30 years.He is survived by his sister, Leone Thull of Berlin; Robert Walker (stepson) of South Carolina; George Davis (brother- in-law) of Wisconsin Rapids; Ken De Hart (nephew) of Tomahawk; Paula De Hart (niece) of Stevens Point; Dawn Discher (niece) of Oshkosh, Nick Thull (nephew) of Bradenton, Florida; Mary Jo Trochinski (niece) of Winter Park, Florida; Connie Lehman (niece) of Oshkosh; Terri Anderson (niece) of Winter Park, Florida; Carol Thull (niece) of Oshkosh; Gary Thull (nephew) of Berlin; Dan Schroeder (nephew) of Bloomington, DE;, Kyle Schroeder (nephew) of Oshkosh; Greg Schroeder (nephew) of Mosinee; and also other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Etrick; brother, Eugene Etrick; sisters, Alice Davis of Wisconsin Rapids; Virginia De Hart of Tomahawk; and Phyllis Schroeder of Mosinee.A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin with the Pastor David Greenfield officiating and burial will follow in the Saint Michaels Cemetery of Berlin.Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 9 to 11 a.m.Immediately following the services at the cemetery all are invited back to the Funeral Home Handicap Accessible Family Center for a luncheon and fellowship with the family.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory to the Alcoholic's Anonymous.
