Marion Sonnentag

God gained another beautiful angel on Thursday, April 30, 2026, when he lifted Marion Sonnentag into his loving arms. Marion lived a great long life being born on July 26,1927 to Andrew and Martha (Matuchevski) Sobralski. Marion had a blessed marriage on May 10, 1952 to Thomas Sonnentag. Marion was always a giver. In her younger years of marriage, she stayed home but was a sewer for many prominent people in Berlin. She made draperies, altered clothes, sewed leather jackets, and even made Halloween costumes. Tom and Marion were blessed with three children, Michael, Daniel and Christine. Once her children were old enough Marion went on to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse and went back to school in her 40’s for an LPN. She enjoyed working at Juliette manor for 25 years. In her retirement she would make many dishrags and granny square Afghans giving them all away to anyone she felt needed them. Marion will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine (Michael) Trampf; Grandchildren, Heather, Shawn (Michelle), Travis (Chrissy), Brian (Jenny), Ethan, Jessica (Zak) Beier and Makayla. Great-grandchildren, Douglas, Eli (Devan), Emily, Grace. Abby, Kaylyn, Leah, Brady, Liam, Logan, Landon, Remy, and Oliver; great-great granddaughter, Layla; and soon to be born great-great grandson. Also survived by brother-in-law, Bud Gerneraux and sister-in-law Julie Sobralski, along with many nieces, nephews and many friends. Marion was preceded in death by her Husband, Tom; sons, Michael and Daniel; brothers, Andrew (Bev) and Richard; sisters, Margaret (Marlin), Delores (Joe), and Dorothy; grandson, Jeremy; and step-grandson, Christian. Marion’s Legacy will live on in the true joy of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Marion will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 9-11 a.m. at Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral home with a short service to follow officiated by Monsignor James Gunn and burial at St Stanislaus Cemetery. Per “Great Grammas” wishes, there will not be a formal meal. She wants us to “Go have a drink instead” Dear Mom, you lived a good life. You saw many world events throughout your life. You were able to travel to many different places and despite what you would say you did live to see many milestones that your grandchildren accomplished. Fly high our angel. You are forever in our hearts.
