Marilyn Marohn

Marilyn A. Marohn, 91, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on February 6, 2026, at Spero Heritage Homes, in Watertown, Wisconsin. Marilyn was born on July 1, 1934, in Berlin, Wisconsin to Arthur and Edna (Gehrke) Moldenhauer. She grew up in Berlin and graduated from Berlin High School in 1952. She worked as a secretary before retiring in 1998. Marilyn loved music. She played the clarinet and was in marching band during her high school years. She also played piano and organ. She used her musical talent to play for church services at St. John's Lutheran church in Berlin, Wisconsin. Besides her enjoyment of playing instruments, she took great pleasure in singing. She sang in the church choir, first at St. John's Lutheran church and later at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Oconomowoc, WI. Marilyn married Frederic Marohn in 1956 in Berlin, Wisconsin. They were happily married for 58 years. During their life together they enjoyed trips to Canada, Niagara Falls, Arizona, California, and also visited the east coast. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Bob) Gerou of Merrill, WI, and her son, Frederic A. Marohn of Hartford, Wisconsin. She is also survived by cousins from both sides of the family as well as friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur (Edna) Moldenhauer, her brother and sister-in-law, Erwin (Margaret) Moldenhauer, her in-laws Rev. Frederic (Emily) Marohn, and her brother-in-law and sister-in law, Rev. Robert (Margaret) Koch. Marilyn's family would like to thank the staff at Spero Heritage Homes of Watertown, W, both the Assisted Living Unit and the Memory Care Unit, for their loving care during the past six years. The family would also like to express gratitude to the Brighton Hospice team who so graciously showered her with love, respect, and mercy. Additionally, the family would like to express appreciation to the pastors of St. Paul's Lutheran church of Oconomowoc, Rev. Lance O'Donnell, and Rev. Jason Schockman, for continuing to bless her with their spiritual guidance and compassion throughout Marilyn's stay at Heritage Homes. And finally, the family would like to acknowledge Pastor Rob Schrader of St. John's Lutheran church in Berlin, for graciously opening his church for Marilyn's funeral service and for his assistance throughout the process. Family and friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 11-11:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church of Berlin. A Funeral service will follow the Friday visitation at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Lance O’Donnel officiating,
