Marge Boening

Marge Ann Boening (Weeks) was born on October 3, 1940, and grew up in Eureka, Wisconsin—a place that shaped her love for simple joys, family, and creativity. She passed peacefully on February 2, 2026, with her daughter Chris holding her hand. In her younger years, Marge worked at the Whiting Hotel in Berlin, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm presence. She later worked at Kolpin Manufacturing until she was injured. Afterward, she became a caregiver for the Karen Vergins family. Their time together was deeply meaningful, and they were truly a blessing to one another. She loved them like her own. Marge had a deep love for art and self-expression. She enjoyed painting, drawing, and coloring pictures for her family, sharing her creativity generously with those she loved. One of her most cherished projects was her special egg tree. She found peace cracking hickory nuts on the porch while listening to George Jones and country gospel music. She was always there with a smile, providing a safe space whenever it was needed. She loved going to concerts and old tractor shows with her very special friend, Joe Piepiorka, creating many fond memories. Family time meant everything to her, especially when it included a game of Upwords—where Marge was never shy about calling you out if you tried to cheat. Marge was a devoted mother to her four children: Richard (Lynn) Boening, Joseph (Michelle) Boening, Chris (David) Dretske, and Linda (Steve) Brewer. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Weeks; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; cousins; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bessie Weeks; her brothers, Donald Robert “Bud” Weeks and Thomas Weeks; her sister, Carol Hadel; her sister-in-law, Judy Weeks; her brother-in-law, George Hadel; her granddaughters, Billi Kaufman and Ruthie Boening; her dear friend, Joe Piepiorka; and Larry Vergin. Family and friends may visit with the family and pay their respects to Marge on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church of Berlin. A funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Rob Schrader. Burial will be held at Eureka Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful caregivers, as well as Brown-Wilcox, Generations Hospice, and Pastor Rob from St. John’s Lutheran Church, for their compassion and care.
