Diana Lynn Ballwanz

Diana Lynn Ballwanz, age 80, passed away on February 26, 2025. leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and devotion to her family. Diana was born on January 2, 1946, to Arthur and Myrtle (Rusch) Warmbier. On October 10, 1964, she married Donald L. Ballwanz and together they built a life centered on family, home, and caring for others. They welcomed one son, David Ballwanz, born on July 9, 1965, whom she loved and supported wholeheartedly. Diana was a natural caretaker whose kindness was shown through the everyday things she did. She enjoyed sewing clothes, so nothing went to waste, preparing meals that brought everyone together, and making sure those around her were cared for. Her home and kitchen were places where family gathered, stories were shared, and everyone felt welcome. She worked with children throughout her entire life, finding joy and purpose in caring for and guiding them. In her later years, Diana retired, she then devoted herself to caring for her great-granddaughters, Alyse and Alayna. Being a part of their daily lives, doing their hair, getting them to school, reading to them, and helping raise them brought her immense happiness and fulfillment. She also had a deep love for gardening and had a true “green thumb.” She found great joy in tending her flowers and plants, taking pride in watching them grow and flourish under her care. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Authur and Myrtle (Rusch) Warmbier; and brothers, Eugene and James Warmbier. She is dearly remembered by, her devoted husband of 61 years, Donald Ballwanz; son, David (Jackie) Ballwanz, granddaughter, Kayla (Ryan) Yonke; great-granddaughters, Alyse and Alayna Yonke, sister, Patrcia Abbs; nephews, Bob (Shelly) and Gary Abbs; other relatives and many friends. A special thank you for the Waushara EMS and Sheriff’s department for the care and kindness shown to Diana. Diana will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her warmth, her selflessness, and the many quiet ways she made life better for those around her. A memorial has been established in her memory. Family and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9-11 a.m. at Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. A Memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gregory Sluke officiating. Inurnment will be held at Ledgeview Cemetery of Fond du Lac following services
