Mrs. Suzanne Polakowski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Suzanne (Sue) Polakowski (nee Bednarek), 93, of Berlin passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at her home, the Patriot Place of Berlin. She was born on August 3, 1921, and raised in Princeton, WI. Sue was the youngest of thirteen children the daughter of Adam Sr. and Frances (Komasa ) Bednarek. She married the late Carl Polakowski on May 15, 1941 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton and together they had five children. Her beloved husband Carl preceded her in death on January 22, 1989. She graduated with her LPN from Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac, WI. Sue spent many years working as a nurse until her retirement from Berlin Memorial Hospital. Sue was a beloved volunteer for the Berlin community and dedicated member of All Saints Catholic Parish. She loved sewing, going and helping at the Berlin Senior Citizens Center, crocheting, painting, children and watching the birds outside her window. Sue had a gentleness that endeared her to so many people. Sue is survived by one child, Sandi (Jerry) Wenzel of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, and four children (Timmy, Ron, Rick and Cindy), as well as her twelve brothers and sisters. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thanks to Sam and Hannah Mertens for their many years of caregiving, love, and compassion. "Grandma Sue" will forever be missed. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff from Agnesian Hospice Hope for their dedication and care during the past year. A viewing will be held at Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin from 9:00 to 10: 30 a.m. on Friday August 29, 2014,before we leave for the services at the church. The funeral service with the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday August 29, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin, with the Rev. Phillip Krogman officiating and burial will follow beside her beloved husband Carl in the Saint Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery of Berlin.
