Robert (John) T. Drover “Bob” It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert (John) T. Drover, age 74, on August 3, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin, Wisconsin. Bob was born on June 17, 1951, in Berlin, WI, to Louis and Helen (Sedarski) Drover. He attended Grade School and High School in Berlin, graduating in 1969. During his first two years of High School, he attended Holy Name Seminary in Madison. On July 22, 1972, Bob married Norelle Mackowski, and together they had two wonderful children, Jonathan and Noel. Norelle preceded Bob in death on April 23, 1980. Bob found love again and on September 15, 1990, married Lori Kraft. Together they shared 34 beautiful years full of adventures—traveling, trips to the casino, playing bingo, countless card games with family and friends, and cherished times at the Drover Hunting Shack. They enjoyed each other’s company, and it was rare to find them apart. Above all, Bob’s greatest joy was his one and only granddaughter, Hannah. His face lit up whenever he spoke about her. He was her biggest fan at every sporting event and her number one supporter in all things. Bob retired from the Berlin U.S. Post Office in 2014. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering his time at ThedaCare and the Second Time Around Shop in Berlin. Bob will be remembered for his kindness, humor, unwavering faith, and the love he had for his family and community. His deep Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a dedicated member of All Saints Catholic Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lori; loving children, Jon (fiancée Linda Lien) and Noel (David) McDowell; and his adored granddaughter, Hannah. He is also survived by his brothers: Ronnie, David (Peggy), Joe, and Donald (Mary) Drover; brother-in-law Dick Sobieski; sisters-in-law Marliss (Jerry) Sobczak and Sandy Kraft; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Billy and Pat Drover; sister, Donna Sobieski; sister-in-law, Patsy Drover; nephew, Bradley Drover; nieces, Karen Drover Gogelowski and Jessica Drover; brother-in-law Mike Kraft; in-laws, Raymond and Mary Ann Kraft; Gladys and Norbert Mackowski; and special friend Rolly Gottbeheut. Family and friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 4-6:45 p.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. A rosary and Knights of Columbus Prayer Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Family and friends may also vist on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 9-11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. following the church visitation, officiated by Monsignor James Gunn. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
