Mr. Robert A. de St. Aubin

Robert A. de St. Aubin, age 94, Berlin, passed on November 25, 2016 surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Chicago on June 23, 1922. He spent his early years in Oak Park IL and attended Oak Park River Forest High School. He served his country in the 106th Infantry participating in the Battle of the Bulge and receiving the Bronze Star for his service. He married the "girl next door" La Vergne toe Laer in 1950. Bob worked for many years as a salesman for Sears Roebuck. Forty six years ago, he moved his family to his beloved home on the Fox River and opened Bob's Hardware in Berlin. After he closed the hardware store, he worked as a janitor for St. Joseph's Church and School in Berlin. (Affectionately known as Mr. Bob) Bob ran the food pantry in Berlin for many years. He was an avid card player, dividing his days between the Berlin Senior Center and Pickett Senior Center. He did lots of volunteer work throughout the community, but his favorite volunteer job was as a volunteer at CHN, now Theda Care where he volunteered for 10 years. He has also been an active and faithful member of the Berlin VFW Wells Krause Post 2925 and All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin. He is survived by three children, Susan (Richard) Semrow of Coloma, Thomas (Lynn) de St. Aubin of Sheboygan and Richard (Sandra) de St. Aubin of Berlin; nine grandchildren, Carl (Brittney) Semrow, Coloma, Marc (Kristin) de St. Aubin, Honolulu, Hawaii, Matt (Anna) de St. Aubin, Elm Grove, Michelle (John) Brill, Ft Belvoir, Kyle Keen, Sheboygan, Corey (John) Theune, Sheboygan, Tiffany (Brad) Forseth, Plymouth, Christopher (Brittanny Berben) Borgardt, Appleton, Austin Borgardt, Milwaukee; and seven great children. Preceded in death by his wife LaVergne (1990), his parents, Armand and Martha de St. Aubin, his sister, Dorothy Jane Ferstel.
