Jean Haueter

February 4, 1943 - December 24, 2017

Jean M. Haueter, age 74, of Berlin, reached out and took the hand of the lord on December 24, 2017 after a long and brave fight with the illness of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) only 1600 cases reported per year. Jean was born on February 4, 1943 to the Late Orville and Henrietta (LeNoble) Fleming in Kimberly, Wisconsin. Jean worked at Pranges in Appleton until her marriage to Don, when they relocated to Oshkosh; there she was employed by the Johnson Hills department store. After moving to Berlin, she worked at Spurgeon’s department store and later at Bank Mutual of Berlin, and finally retiring from Kmart in Ripon. She is a faithful member of the All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin; she enjoyed singing in the church choir, senior singers, sewing, reading, traveling, attending musicals, crafting and quilting. One of her greatest joys was being a mother and grandmother. Jean also has a vast collection of monkeys that increased on every holiday or birthday much to her cringing. She is survived by her husband Don of 51 years, She is also survived by her children, Diane Heise of Berlin, WI, Larry & Amelia (Morton) Haueter, of Birmingham, AL; grandson, Brayden Heise of Berlin,WI; sisters, Barbara (Joe) Romaine, Menifee, CA, Patricia (Cal) Welch, Little Chute, WI; brothers, Allen Fleming Belcher, of Town, MA, Thomas (Vickie) Fleming, of Baraboo, WI, Kevin (Manny Luna) Fleming, of LaGuna CA, brother-in-law, Lloyd (Percy) Haueter, of Larsen, WI, sisters-in-law, Gloria (Ray) Rast, of Neenah, WI, Lois (Bob) Dundee, of Oshkosh, WI, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts & uncles. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Henrietta Fleming, her sister, Janice Almun, brothers, Dean, Wayne, Gorden and Gerald also her brother-in-law, Donald Dagneau; nephew, Jeffery Dagneau, and Don’s parents, Albert and Mabel Haueter. A private Committal service with burial will be held at the Lakeview Memorial Park of Oshkosh at a later date. A memorial is being established to the All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin and or the Mayo Clinic in Jean’s memory. The family wishes to thank Julie Sobraski, Pat Davey, her sister Pat Welch and Sister Michaeleen, Ann Fleming, and Ministry Home Care, Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice, Robin, Joy, Toni, Brad, Jenny, Kerry and Jammie, for all of their kindness and assistance in our time of need.
