Mrs. Dorothe Lesnick

Dorothe C. Lesnick, Age 93, of Oshkosh, Formerly of Omro and Neshkoro passed into our Lords arms with her family at her bedside on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at the Eden Meadows Greenhouses. She was born on July 27, 1922 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin the daughter of Walter and Flora (Hansen) Shebelske. She married the love of her life Donald J. Lesnick on January 4, 1943. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2000. She was employed by the Ripon School District as a Special Education Teacher. Teaching was her life and she always said her students were her kids! She graduated from Berlin High School and Waushara County Teacher’s College. In 1968 she received her B.A. in Education from UW-O. Education was always a top priority with her and she encouraged everyone to, “Get an education- no one can take that away from you.” Dorothe loved children. Her face would light up whenever she was with them. No baby was ever ignored by her!! Dorothe was very active in her younger days…bridge, square dancing, craft projects, and numerous activities while wintering in Florida every year. She was also a fabulous cook and baker. She loved animals and always had at least one pet. Dorothe was a very loving and giving person who was happiest when with her family. Her family was her world! She was a very strong woman who instilled faith and morals in her offspring. She was a great mentor. She belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Daughters, Retired Teachers, and WEA. She is a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church of Omro, Wisconsin. She was a former member of St. Stanislaus in Berlin, St. James in Neshkoro, and St. Anthony’s in Brooksville, Florida. She was a very devout woman and religion was extremely important to her. She is survived by her children James (Marie) Lesnick of Omro, beloved daughter Mary Jo Lesnick of Oshkosh, cherished son Jeffery (RuthAnn) Lesnick of Omro. Also survived by four grandchildren Lisa (Marc) Curtis, Brad Lesnick, Jessica (Travis) Nemecek, and Erin Hebert. Four grandchildren Mandi, Kaytie, Karie, and Michael. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rubyann Lesnick, her Godchild Dianne DeOca, nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her dear friends Audrey Rolth and Kathy Johnson who were always there for her. In addition, her four-legged grandkids Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, Bella, Tipsy, Jetta, and Yoda. She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, in-laws, her two infant sons Thomas and Michael, sister Florence, brothers and sisters-in-laws. Also her faithful four-legged companion of eighteen years Patches. Special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Eden Meadows Greenhouses especially “my angels” Crystal and Lisa. Also a special thanks to Sister Pam and Generations Hospice for their compassionate care. Mom you will be missed but your suffering is over until we see you again take care of the pieces of our hearts you have with you. We’ll love you forever, We’ll like you for always, As long as we are living our mom/grandma you’ll be! A memorial has been established in her memory.
