Daniel Thomas Sonnentag

July 10, 1955 - November 30, 2016

Daniel “Dan” Thomas Sonnentag, 61, of Berlin, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2016. Dan was born in Berlin, Wisconsin on July 10, 1955. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1973 and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from UW-Milwaukee in 1977. Dan worked many years in the retail field managing several stores throughout his career. He enjoyed reading, music, and playing cribbage. He aspired to be an author and never gave up on his dream of becoming a published writer. He also enjoyed fishing and being around friends and family. Dan had a great sense of humor and was often smiling and having a good time. His laughter was contagious and people enjoyed his company. Dan is survived by mother, Marion; sister, Christine (Mike) Trampf; brother, Mike Sonnentag; son, Brian (Jennifer); grandchildren Abby, Kaylyn, Leah and Brady; son, Ethan (Tessa Kasuboski); grandchild Kaleb; son, Christian Walker; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Dan is preceded in death by father, Thomas; grandparents, Viola and Frank Sonnentag, and Andrew and Martha Sobralski. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a prayer service too occur at 11:00 a.m. Father David Greenfield of All Saints Catholic Church will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral home located at 116 S. Adams Street in Berlin, Wisconsin. A luncheon will be served following the service at the Berlin VFW Wells Krause Post 2925.
