Daniel Raymond Brooks

February 13, 1960 - October 19, 2017

Daniel Raymond Brooks, age 57, passed away on Thursday October 19th, 2017, surrounded by family. ‘I was born February 13th, 1960 in Berlin Wisconsin, the son of Raymond and Mary Lou Brooks, the best parents I could have asked for. I had a great childhood filled with many memories with my brother Johnny, getting in trouble. I had many close friends and most of my time was spent at the boathouse on Center Street playing pool, jumping on the tramp, spying on the neighbors, and watching the cars go by. My high school years were awesome. I had a lot of peer pressure to try different things, so I did. I had a lot of fun and memories with good friends. I attended the school of hard knocks under the tutelage of Raymond, Dick, and Glenn Brooks. They were my mentors and I loved every minute of it. I worked alongside them from 1975 until 2000. I moved to Madison in search of a REAL JOB and ended up selling windows and sunrooms, which I really enjoyed. Brother John soon moved to Madison and we worked together for several years. Most of our family also moved to Madison, including Mom and Dad in 2006, before their passing. I had my share of health issues over the years, which I apologize for complaining about all the time. Since then, I’ve done some traveling and spent a lot of time with family and friends. I always loved laughter, storytelling, rumor milling, music, watching a good movie, socializing, boating, scamping, cars, people watching and life in general. I was always there for anyone that needed a little help and was told I had a caring soul. My mom, dad, and sister, Mary Rae preceded me in death. I’m survived by the best siblings in the world. Thanks for helping me through this life, brother, Johnny, and sisters, Jo-Jo, Chrissy, and Mary. My children were: Norbie, Missy, Martha, Jessie, Keri, Joey and Jeremy, Emma, Josh, Hannah, Mandy, Betsy, Alex, Melly, Eric, April, Adam, and Becky. They were all my favorites and they all knew it. All these kids had kids and I was proud to be a part of their lives. I will also miss my prom date and friend Monica, as well as all the friends I met along life’s highway. May God bless everyone I knew and loved’ A Memorial Gathering will be held at Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home in Berlin, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 11th, 2017 at 3pm. A Celebration of Life Party will be held following the memorial. In lieu of flowers, Danny requested memorial donations be made on his behalf to research for Rheumatoid Arthritis.
