Mrs. Bernice L. Carley

July 26, 1929 - August 9, 2014

Bernice L. Carley, (nee Thull), age 85, of Berlin, went to spend eternal life with her Lord on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Omro Care Center, where she had resided for only a few days. Bernice was born on July 26, 1929, in Eureka the daughter of Edward and Irene (Jannusch) Thull. She is a graduate of the Berlin High School with the class of 1947. On May 3, 1952, she married the love of her life Richard Carley Sr. and together they raised seven children and farmed with her husband most of their life until their retirement and then moved into Berlin. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed word search books, flowers, playing cards, bowling, also waiting for her daughter Cheryl to call, volunteering for the meals on wheels with her husband at the Senior Citizens Center. Bernice was a devoted Catholic and is a member of the All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Richard Carley Sr.; sons, Gary (Vicky) Carley, James (Cheryl) Carley both of Oshkosh; and Richard Jr. (Kris) Carley of Omro; daughters, Cheryl (Jerry) Lapene of Berlin; Deborah (Shawn) Engel of Pine River; Rose (George) Hobbs of Chippewa Falls; and Vicki (Earl Jr.) Quick of South Range, MI.; grandchildren, Kenzie Hobbs, Phoenix, AZ.; Daniel (Tonia) Voetberg of Neenah; Jamie (Tom) Christiansen of Madison; Clint Engel of Stevens Point; Shannon Carley of Oshkosh; Alli Carley of Oshkosh; Craig Lapene of WI.; Michele (Mike) St. Louis of Princeton; Evlyn (Jeffrey) Gaetzke of Omro; Kimberly (Greg) Neubauer and Jefry Carley of Berlin; Richard Carley III., (special friend, Amanda) of Oshkosh; Jeremiah (Jamie) Quick of Pine River; Rachel (Jose Sr.) Zarate of Plainfield; and Kara Quick of Oshkosh; great-grandchildren, Caden, Haley, Jeffrey, Adrian, Landyn, Brian, Donald, Tacie, Aubrey, Jacob, Marina, Cheyanne, Raelyn, Presley, Riley, Devin, Abigail, Emma, Jose Jr., Alex, Gracie and Hunter; also many nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Irene Thull, brother, Merle Thull and his wife, Barbara, sister, Jalaine Bunker and her husband, Russell, her father and mother-in-law, Robert Sr. and Lillian Carley; brothers-in-law, Robert Carley Jr. and Cyril Hopfensperger and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hopfensperger, her son, Jeffrey Carley and her grandson, Brian Voetberg and her granddaughter, Jessica Rae
