Wayne "Bucky" Wesner

On March 20th, 2025, Wayne “Bucky” Wesner, age 71 entered the eternal Kingdom of Heaven. He was hugged tightly by Jesus and reunited with his father (Lewis) and mother (Marge), brother (Ronnie) and sister (Janice). His soul was at peace and his health restored. Buck was born on March 27, 1953. He grew up in Borth, WI. Buck met the love of his life, Laurie Stefan at his father and mother’s bar. Buck instantly fell in love and married Laurie on September 29, 1979. Buck and Laurie took over the family business in 1982. Buck and Laurie decided to have two wonderful children, Stacy and Andy “Spud”. They sold the bar in Borth in 1993 and briefly owned a supper club in Princeton. They eventually went back to what Buck did best and owned Bucky’s Bar in Berlin since 1997. Buck was an incredible athlete in his prime. He played on many softball and hardball teams and was considered by many as one of the best. That reputation followed him. Anytime there was a pool game, the common phrase you would hear was “I’ll take Buck as partner!” Buck didn’t lose too many pool games! He really enjoyed fishing and hunting as well. Buck would get so damn excited when his tip-up went up, we would literally have to get out of his way or get run over by him. He wanted to ensure his children had great deer stands to hunt in the next ten years and spent countless hours completing them this winter. Buck was truly the life of the party. He not only left lasting impressions on his friends, but he also left impressions on complete strangers that only met him once. Buck will always be remembered for providing exceptional customer service and running a successful business for 45 years! Many customers only stopped in for one beer but heard the phrase, “final, final.” Four hours later, and ten extra sharps, they finally left! Buck was truly a genius in business and made his customers feel valued. He appreciated the years of support from every single customer. Finally, Buck loved his family. He told his family how much he loved them and would miss them. Buck felt he was putting his family through so much and he could not bear to see his family suffer any more. He made the decision that he felt was best for the family he loved so very much. Buck will always be remembered as a husband who loved his wife so much and protected and supported her for forty-five years. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly and loved to share his love with the outdoors with Paige and Chloe and would drop everything if they needed help or called. Buck was a tough man but had a heart of gold. He will be remembered as a man that would literally help anyone out. The last quote Buck said to his son was, “I love your mother and you kids so much! You have been so great to me; I can’t put you guys through this anymore. It will be easier for you to move on and not have to deal with this.” One last act for him truly believing he was doing the best for his family. “Final, Final, Final” Buck is survived by the love of his life, Laurie; children, Stacy (Dave) Zietlow and Andy “Spud” Wesner; two beautiful grandchildren, Paige and Chloe Zietlow; siblings, Dawn Dowling, Randy (Karen) Wesner, John Barkovich, Lori (Kevin) Sternitske, Scott Wesner, Rick (Leanna) Stefan, Dorie (Doug) Bindrich, Randy (Kathy) Stefan; many nieces and nephews, and many friends. He joined his parents, Lewis and Marge Wesner; siblings, Janice Barkovich and Ronnie “Slick” Wesner; nephew Craig Wesner in eternal life. A private family service will held, but a public gathering of friends and family will be held celebrating Bucky’s life on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The celebration of life will be co-hosted at Bucky’s Bar and the Berlin Lanes from noon to 6 p.m. at both locations.
