Stephie Cepon

Stephie Cepon, formerly of Berlin, passed into the arms of her Savior on February 19, 2016, in the loving care of her daughter Jean and son-in-law Phil. She was 100 years old. She is survived by her children: Louis (Linda) Cepon, Kaye (Bill) Anderson, Gerry (Sandy) Cepon, Jean (Phil) Pionke, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very dedicated Mom and grandma; her great love for her family was a top priority in her life. Stephie was born in Waukegan, Illinois on December 24, 1915. She worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Saint Therese Hospital in Waukegan for 25 years. She had a deep compassion for her patients; a true gift from God. When Jean married Phil Pionke in 1981, Stephie moved to Berlin where she continued to work for the next 23 years at Berlin Greenhouses and Florists, owned by Phil and Jean. She was a "fixture" at both the greenhouses and the flower shop. She was noted for the 3000 cookies that she baked every year for the flower shop's Christmas Open House. Stephie was born into the love of Christ at the age of 87 and attended Faith Community Church of Berlin. The Light of Jesus was always seen in her warm smile and eyes, but the true Beauty of my Mom could not only be seen: you felt it in your heart. Jean, Phil, and Stephie moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in 2005, where her love for her Lord and His creation in the beauty of the mountains were enjoyed by her for the last 11 years. Mom loved Jesus, her family, friends, her dogs Susie and Luna, and all her grand-dogs. She found in God's blessings in her life a reason to be thankful every day. Her joy was always evident even through the storms of life. You have taught us so much. "Thank you Mom." In the Bible, Jesus tells us in John 5:24: "I tell you the Truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life." Mom, you have crossed the Narrow Sea, where there is no more pain or sorrow, no more tears. God's grace has led you home. You are in Heaven where life and love never end. You have fought the final war with pain, and death has given way to Victory, and you see the sight of Glory because Jesus lives. We miss you so much Mom. We love you! A celebration of Stephie's life will be held on July 19, 2016, at Faith Community Church: 200 S. Church Street in Berlin, Pastor Terry Reiser presiding. She will lie in state at 9:00a.m., with the service at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin, the city Stephie loved. After the burial, lunch will be served at Faith Community Church.
