Ruth Kettlewell

Ruth Kettlewell, 95, of Berlin, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Ruth was born on May 8, 1926, to William and Hazel (Ellis) Beck. She was a graduate of Berlin High School. She married Keith Kettlewell on October 30, 1948, and they farmed together until his death in 1996. She and Keith enjoyed square dancing, snowmobiling, and time with their good friends and extended family. Ruth liked gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, tatting, crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She supported her children’s pursuits in sports, music, and 4-H and was a member of the Loyal Homemakers Club. An active member of the Shead Island Cemetery Board, she served as secretary for many years. In her community, she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and served on the Waushara County Library Board. After her children were grown, she worked for many years as a cook for the Berlin School District. She was a member of Borth United Methodist Church and the Esther Circle. Ruth is survived by her children: Derald (Mary) Kettlewell, Greenfield; Ronald (Jill) Kettlewell, Antigo; Karen Kettlewell (Richard Lasselle), Groveland, Florida; Debra (Paul) Brey, Richfield; and Scott (Susan) Kettlewell, Webster, New York. She is further survived by grandchildren: Anna Kettlewell; Andrew (Sarah) Kettlewell; Casey Kettlewell; Esther (Jacob) Ebenhoe; Zachary (Caron) Zagar; Dana William (Sarah) Harrington; Cailin (Alan) Witlen; Bradley (Jeanette) Brey; and Gregory (Julia Kohlberg) Brey. She is also survived by great grandchildren Abigail Kettlewell; William (Liam) Kettlewell; Zofia Koch; Tilia Koch; Lucia Ebenhoe; Marcello Ebenhoe; Isabella Harrington; Elijah Witlen; Leah Witlen; Benjamin Potteiger; Colten Brey; and Beau Brey. She will be missed by her wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and parents; brothers Clifford Beck and Glenn Beck; sister Julia Beck; and sister-in-law LeRayne Beck. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Gloria Beck. Family and friends may visit with the family and pay their respects to Ruth on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. A funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Becky Kindschi officiating. Burial will follow service at Shead Island Cemetery, W295 State Road 21, Berlin. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shead Island Cemetery or the Borth United Methodist Church would be welcomed.
