Mr. Richard S. Doro

Richard S. Doro, age 90, formerly of the Town of Rushford, died peacefully surrounded with the love of his family on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Alten Haus of Neenah, Wisconsin. He was born on December 9, 1925 in the Town of Rushford, the son of Edward and Mary (Resop) Doro. He married Mary Ellen (Schuster) on June 29, 1949 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Omro and shared 58 wonderful years together until she passed away on August 5, 2007. Richard was a graduate of the Berlin High School class of 1945 and continued in the family tradition of farming. When he was not on the tractor, he enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and crafting items out of wood. Cherry Pepsi, “Fireball” and “Root beer” candy drops and especially anything CHOCOLATE were always enjoyed with a good game of cards. He was a lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Parish and the Holy Name Society of the Parish, and served on the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church council for some time. He is survived by his children, Mary Beth (James) Herres of Neenah, Jean (Al) Youngbauer of Berlin, Pat (Dan) Rose of Franklin Park, Il., Jack (Debbie) Doro of Appleton, Monica (Robert) Brotske of Berlin, Joanne (Paul) Jessen of Mukwonago, Barbara (Frank) Santos of Wind Lake, Matt (Alice) Doro of Downers Grove, Il., his sister in law, Margaret Cismoski of Seymour, 35 grandchildren, 38 ½ great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Ellen, a son, Greg, and 11 brothers and sisters and their spouses. Funeral services, with a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin, at 10:30 a.m., with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery of Berlin. Family and friends may call at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin, on Friday, January 29, 2016, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a parish rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. and may also call on Saturday morning from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. until we leave for Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory. The family would like to thank the entire staff for the excellent care and attention given to Richard at the Alten Haus.
