Norbert J. Krause

Norbert John Krause, age 86, of Berlin, WI entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 19, 2021 surrounded by his family. Norbert was born on September 26, 1934 to parents Walter and Lillian Krause. He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School through eighth grade and was proud to be an “altar boy” through his sophomore year of high school. He attended Berlin High School, graduating in 1957. He then served in the U.S. Army beginning in 1957 as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. His tattoos will forever be remembered depicting his life in the military. “Jump – Who Me?” and “Death before Dishonor”. While serving at Fort Campbell Kentucky, Norbert met Marilyn Faye (nee Brown), asked her to dance, and their love story began. They were married on October 4th, 1958, and they settled back in Norbert’s hometown of Berlin. He worked for Kopplin and Kinas, along with Washkovick Excavating as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Local 139 Engineers. Norbert and Faye enjoyed nearly 64 years of marriage and raised a wonderful family of four. He is survived by his loving wife Faye, his children Pamela (Cliff) Schoenick, Tony (Brenda) Krause, Yvonne (Tim) Chase, and Tom (Kelly) Krause. He loved his grandchildren Josh (Sherri) Wendt, Theresa (Josh) Petraszak, Ashley Clausen, Nick (Jen) Krause, Jake Krause, Mitchell (Stephanie) Krause, and Paige Krause. He is also survived by his sister Audrey Plato, along with several nieces and nephews. He is also proud of his 9 great-grandchildren Destiny Wilson, Xavier Wendt, Gabriel Petraszak, Blake Petraszak, Morrison Clausen, Jett Clausen, Cayson Rogers, Walter Krause, and Waylon Krause. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dolores, his brother Eugene, and several other family members and friends. Norbert truly enjoyed his days hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, watching the Packers, and family gatherings. One of his favorite times was a good card game with his family. He was always really happy if he was winning! Christmas 2020 card game in the Krause shed will be the most memorable of all. We are so thankful for Dr. Craig Batley, Dr. David Budde and ThedaCare Eastridge clinic, ThedaCare Hospice and our special nurse Jolene, and Father John Silva with All Saints Catholic Church for all their care, compassion, guidance, and kind words. A private family Catholic burial at St. Stanislaus Cemetery has taken place.
