Matthew J. Krause

With deep sadness, we share the unexpected passing of Matthew J. Krause on September 5, 2026. He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished son, loyal brother, fun-loving uncle, and trusted friend. Matthew was born in Berlin, Wisconsin, on December 30, 1983, to Keith Krause and Lori Janes. Matthew attended St. John’s Lutheran Grade School and later Berlin High School. He started dating the love of his life, Brooke Tindall, in 2008 and married her on August 29, 2014. Matthew stayed close to his roots in the Berlin and Poy Sippi area. He began his adult life as a woodworking craftsman and later built a career in manufacturing. Most recently, he worked at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon. Matthew loved deer hunting and treasured the time he spent with his father and brothers on nearby private hunting land. After a hunt, or while cheering on his favorite sports teams, he enjoyed unwinding with an ice-cold Corona or a freshly muddled Old Fashioned. Matthew brought laughter wherever he went and was, at least in his own mind, the comedian of the family. A true Seinfeld fan, he loved slipping Seinfeld quotes into everyday conversation, usually earning a laugh, a chuckle, or a loving eye roll. As the baby of the family, Matthew enjoyed an unbreakable bond with his mom, Lori. Matthew is survived by his wife, Brooke Krause; children Laylah and Mateyo Krause; stepson, Cain Netko; father, Keith Krause; mother, Lori Janes; sister, Stacey Guden (Aaron); brothers, Josh Krause and Karl Krause (Amanda); nephews, Brady Kolpin, Cainan Kolpin, and Karter Krause; nieces, Abby Kolpin, Breanna Stahl (David), Makela Murkley (Cody), Coral Krause, Audrey Krause, and Kassandra Krause; and lifelong family friends, Angie Braun (Mike) and Clint Drover. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Karl and Joyce Krause, and Jack and Janet Allen; his sister, Trina Krause; and his nephew, Ethan Haese. The family is grateful for your compassion and support during this difficult time. Those who wish to honor Matthew are invited to visit, share memories, and pay their respects to Matthew on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home in Berlin.
