Mr. Marlin Abel

Marlin Abel, age 91, of the Town of Seneca, Berlin, passed away peacefully from complications of a stroke on Wednesday March 23, 2016 at the Theda-Clark Medical Center of Neenah. He was born on November 15, 1924 in the Town of Seneca, the son of Albert Jr. and Anna (Fritz) Abel. He married the love of his life of 63 years, Adeline (Otto) at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Oshkosh. He had farmed his entire life on the farm west of Berlin. He is a faithful member of the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church of Fairburn his entire life serving the church in many offices such as President, Elder and all around helper for the Church. He also was the Sexton of the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery of Fairburn for many years and was very proud of his work. Marlin also served the Town of Seneca as the Town Chairman and also the ASCS of Green Lake, he had also drove school bus for many years and was remembered by the children as a kind man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Adeline, son, Gary (Pam) Abel of the Town of Seneca and grandchildren, Melissa and Mark and his (fiancée Tiffanie), one sister, Elvera (Harold) Ottman of Sheboygan Falls, also two foster children, Dan (Sherie) Murton and Terri Baker, further survived by one niece and three nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father in law. Relatives and friends may visit with the family and pay respects to Marlin on Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Berlin Funeral Home and may also visit at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church of Fairburn on Wednesday March 30, 2016 one hour prior to the Funeral Service or 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m., with the Pastor Gregory Sluke officiating and burial will follow in the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery of which Marlin was the Cemetery Sexton for many years. Following the service at the cemetery all are invited back to church for fellowship and a luncheon with the family. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Berlin Hospital and Theda Clark Hospital for all of their care and compassion to Marlin and his family.
