Mr. John Joseph Ceaman

John Joseph Ceaman, age 89, of Fox Point, WI. formerly of Berlin, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 12, 2014. John was born March 14, 1925 in Berlin WI, to John C. and Stella (Zeleske) Ceaman. He attended St. Michael’s Catholic Grade school in Berlin WI., and graduated from the Pionono High School in Milwaukee, WI. John served as a SGT in the Army Air Force in Casa Blanca, Morocco from 1943 to 1946, as a grounds communications operator. John married Barbara Meyer on June 14, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Berlin, WI. And they were married for 67 years. They moved to Milwaukee, WI where John worked for 41 years at the Scott Paper Company, as a plant engineer. John and Barb raised 4 children in a home that John designed and help build. After the death of their daughter Lynn, in 1967, they assumed guardianship of their 13 year old grandson, Jason. Jason lived with them until he finished his education. John and Barb spent most of their summers at the Green Lake Campground, in Green Lake, WI. John will be dearly missed by his campground family. They cherished his friendship, his story telling, his humanitarian sprit, and his ingenuity. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, any anything outdoors. He was an inventor, artist, and wood carver. His works are displayed and enjoyed by many. John is a faithful member of the Saint Eugene Catholic Parish of Fox Point and a former member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Parish of Berlin. John is survived by his widow Barb, of Fox Point, daughter, Judy (Doug) Fralick, son, John (Carol) Ceaman, brother in law, Bob, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also many nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughters Lana and Lynn, and his sister Grace. Visitation for John will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 19, 2014, before we leave for the church service at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin. A Funeral Service with the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00a.m., on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at the All Saints Catholic Church in Berlin with the Rev. David Greenfield officiating and burial will follow with full Military Honors by the Berlin VFW Honor Guard in the Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin, WI. A fellowship and Luncheon will immediately follow the services at the cemetery at the VFW Hall in Berlin, all are invited. John touched many lives throughout his amazing lifetime. He will always be remembered for his artistic abilities, and his willingness to help others. We will miss him very much!
