Geraldine Robinson

Geraldine Robinson passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 28th, 2023, after a brief illness. Geraldine "Gerry" Mabel Robinson (Querveld) was born on July 8th, 1932, to Delbert and Ardellia (Warwick) Querveld on the Warwick Homestead in the town of Warren. The place she remembers as home and had the best times of her life. She was raised by her mother and stepfather Henry Retzlaff. She resided in Pickett, Wisconsin until the age of 13 when she moved to Berlin, Wisconsin. Gerry married Duaine Barthels in 1949. Together they had three children Russell, Roshelle, and Rodney. Later in life she married Gordon Robinson. Together they had two children, Roger and Tammi. Gerry would work at the mink ranch seasonally to make money for Christmas. She groomed dogs at home for many years while raising her children. Gerry began working at Fox River Industries in the early 80's and remained there for 21 years. There she earned the name of "Corn Queen". Gerry loved to garden and worked tirelessly on her flower and vegetable gardens. During her time at Fox River Industries, she opened her home to foster disabled adults. She loved them all and they became family. She continued to foster well into retirement. After retirement Gerry cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There were sleepovers and dress-up parties. Gerry would tuck them in at night with the softest blanket in the world and "say the words" telling nursery rhymes. Breakfast would be muffins and fry bread for everyone. Christmas time at Gerry's was a magical experience as she transformed every room in the house for the season. She would prepare a feast and the family would gather every Christmas Eve. Gerry was creative and crafty. She crocheted, painted, made beautiful arrangements, and wreaths. Gerry had a love for animals. Throughout the years she had cared for birds, ducks, raccoons, squirrels, fish, cats, and dogs. Gerry was blessed with many friends. She was thought of as always being very put together and elegant. She has a presence that was felt by everyone and will be dearly missed. Gerry was preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, stepbrother Arnie Retzlaff, daughter Roshelle Dawn, husband Gordon Robinson, grandson Keegan Robinson, sons-in-law Tim Lueptow and Scott Gaab, and many friends and family. She is survived by her stepbrother Larry Retzlaff, her children, Russell Barthels, Rodney (Lenny) Barthels, Roger Robinson, Tammi Gaab, and daughter of her heart De Anna Lueptow. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Brent Barthels, Sara Barthels, Tyler (Amanda) Robinson, Lindsey (Dave) Rust, Kelsey (Marty) Trochinski, Brady (Rocki) Gaab, Amber (Joe) Rozek, and Alexandria (Ross) Johnson, great- grandchildren Kya and Addison Barthels, Myles Loof, Sonny Rust, Harry, Ruby, and Etta Trochinski, Lucille Gaab, Andrew and Ariana Rozek, Jack, and Luke Johnson. A heartfelt thank you to Promedica Hospice, especially to Sierra and Delaney for their care of Gerry.
