Gerald Sedarski

Gerald Lee Sedarski (Gary/Choggie), age 71, passed away on May 4, 2025. Gary was born May 9, 1953, in Berlin, Wisconsin, son of the late Norbert and Helen (Nigbor) Sedarski. He graduated from Berlin High School (Class of 1971) followed by serving in the Army. Following his time in the military, he worked for the Green Lake County Highway Department for many years. Later, he found his calling on the open road, driving truck. His impressive trucking career spanned over two million miles, allowing him to experience the countryside, creating some amazing stories and lifelong friends he loved to talk so much about. Gary, who was not the type to sit still, was known for his tendency to “putz” around. Gary took pride in caring for his lawn, flowers, and landscaping. Tidiness was important to Gary; his belongings were always neat, and his vehicles were always spotless. Gary’s legacy lives on through his witty sense of humor. He was known for being a practical joker, always ready with a funny story or an original song he wrote on the spot. Underneath all the jokes, he was a genuinely kind-hearted man who loved bringing smiles to everyone around him. In the spring of 2024, Gerald bravely faced cancer, which left him unable to eat or speak clearly and weakened his body. Despite these challenges, his incredible spirit shone through as he fought to live life to the fullest. Even after moving to the Markesan Residential Home, Gerald found positivity in every journey he made, always seeking the brighter side. He used his remaining time to share laughter and stories with his nurses, creating a deep bond that uplifted everyone around him. He is survived by his beautiful daughters, Erin (Tom) Steinberg and Jessica Sedarski (Stephen Bentilla). His legacy includes his grandchildren, Justin, Brooke and Jenna. He is further survived by his fur babies, Angel Marie and Gracie. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother, Kevin (Patty) Sedarski, special friend Shelly Jatczak, and many relatives and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his loving parents, Norbert and Helen Sedarski; and his brothers, Richard and Dennis Sedarski.
