David Dehn

David Kevin Dehn, age 60, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones, with his mother holding his hand. David was born August 20, 1959 in Berlin, to Ronald Richard Dehn and Rose Ann Dehn (née Kellogg). Many people referred to Dave as "Eddie", a nickname given to him by his friends which followed him through the years. Eddie’s friends showed up in force over the last several weeks to share their love and support as his health declined. For that his family will be forever grateful. He was a 1977 graduate of Berlin High School. Dave worked for many years with his father at Senior Engineering as a welder. When the company was sold, he went to work for Aurora Farms and eventually came to work for Leach Farms in Borth where he was a jack of all trades and made life-long friends. He had a great love and found his peace being in the outdoors. He enjoyed dove hunting, ice fishing, gardening, and snowmobiling. Dave also enjoyed tapping his trees to make maple syrup, which he shared with family and friends. He was an avid sports and music enthusiast. He also enjoyed watching his "Pack" and "Brew Crew"; and had an appreciation for a good, cold beer. He also loved spending time with family and friends. He made us smile whether it was while watching him chase the squirrels off his bird feeders or while experiencing the joy of watching him entertain a child; one of his most admired talents. He was a gentle kind hearted soul and a devoted and loving partner. Dave was admired by his nieces and nephews, and many close friends who all share many fond memories. He was a rare individual who listened without judgement and loved unconditionally. He was always willing to help a friend in need. He will be remembered for his caring way, his honesty, his sense of humor, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. He fought his difficult journey with cancer with strength and courage. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Juliette Manor for their excellent care and compassion. "My love, I will miss your blue eyes. I miss your laugh and your strong arms to hold me. Thank you for choosing me to spend this life with. I will keep you in my heart forever. You will be deeply missed by all your friends, family and by all who knew you." Dave is survived by his beloved partner of many years, Trish Drover; his mom, Rose Dehn; sisters, Lori (Larry) Hollmaier and Teri (Paul) Phillippi. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Emily (Austin) Smith, Tom (Amy) Hollmaier, Tracy (James) Phillippi-McKenzie, and Evan Phillippi; grand-nephews and nieces; aunts, uncles and cousins; and god-child child Kara Wesner . Dave was preceded in death by his father, Ron Dehn; brother, Douglas Dehn; grandparents, Elmer and Mable Dehn, and Dean and Margaret Kellogg. Family and friends may pay their respects to the family on Friday March 13, 2020 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and also on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home officiated by Father David Greenfield. Inurnment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery of Berlin. All are invited back to the funeral home for a luncheon and a time for sharing.
