Barbara Williams

Barbara Ann Williams passed away peacefully at Patriot Place Assisted Living in Berlin, Wisconsin, on June 16, 2026. Barb was born on April 4, 1941, in Sparta, Wisconsin, to Verl and Adeline Jones. She met the love of her life, Norm, while working at the Pet Milk Company, and the two married on September 9, 1961, at St. Patrick’s Church in Sparta, Wisconsin. Together they began their lives and started their family. They later moved to Berlin, Wisconsin, where they continued to grow their family and where Barb devoted herself to raising their four children. Barb began working at the Walker Agency once her children were school-age for a few years before working for the City of Berlin Water Department for 23 years. Following her retirement, she dedicated countless hours to volunteering in her community. She volunteered at All Saints Catholic School while her granddaughters attended school there, helped with the Boys & Girls Club Homework Club, and faithfully clipped Campbell’s Soup labels and collected Box Tops to support local schools and children. She also loved helping at the church rummage sales, which Norm dreaded because he never knew what she would bring home. Family was the center of Barb’s life. She loved children and especially cherished attending her grandchildren’s extracurricular activities, always showing up to support and encourage them. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, trying her luck on penny slot machines, and taking drives with Norm to get ice cream. Barb will be remembered for her generosity, her dedication to her family, her sharp hearing, her sassy remarks and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering support of those she loved will be deeply missed. Barb is survived by her daughters, Nancy Williams, Michele (John) Probst; her son, Michael (Donna) Williams; and her daughter-in-law, Val Stahl (Dean). She was a proud grandmother to Emily (Tom) Ogren, Katie Probst, Ben Probst, Brianna (Ryan) Viertel, Kiersten (Hannah) Hunt, and Sydney (Derek) Ross. Her great-grandchildren, Ella Ogren, Mallory Ogren, and Jackson Viertel, brought a special sparkle to her eyes. She is also survived by her step-grandsons, Justin (Katie) Zieglemeier and Brandon (Carli) Zieglemeier; her step-great-grandchildren, Dahlia, Ilah, and Hunter Zieglemeier; her siblings, Stan (Pat) Jones, Dianne Engler, and Sara (Dave) Kemp; in-laws, Madonna Brueggen; Eunice (Jerry) Newberg, and Jeanette (Larry) Hayes; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norm; her son, Bruce, her parents, Verl and Adeline Jones, her in – laws Ken Engler, Philip Brueggen, Alvin and Joanne Williams, and Edgar and Millie Williams. Barb’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Patriot Place Assisted Living and to Heartland Hospice Staff who provided her with comfort, compassion, and care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, N8566 State Rd. 49 - Berlin, WI 54923, at 11:00A.M. on Monday, June 22, 2026, officiated by Monsignor James Gunn. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. – 10:45 A.M. prior to the mass. In place of flowers, a memorial has been established in Barb's memory.
