Richard Boening

Richard Allen Boening unexpectantly entered into his eternal life on Sunday morning Oct 16, 2022 at the age of 82 years old at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI. Richard, known by all as Dick was born in Berlin, WI April 21, 1940, to Edward & Margaret Boening. Dick worked at the Berlin foundry for 35 years and was a member of the Old Timers Association, after he retired from the foundry, he worked for the Berlin School System for 15 years as a janitor where he made friends with the staff and students. He married his sweetheart, Connie of 42 years on February 14, 1981. Together they shared many happy memories together. Dick was a member of the Berlin Conservation Club, where he enjoyed Friday morning coffee clutch with the guys. He was a member of All Saints Church in Berlin. Dick and Connie loved going on bus trips with all their friends, traveling to Maine, Texas, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, just to name a few. One of their favorites was visiting the Amish Country. Another love he had was working in his “Wood Shop", he made many gifts for family & friends that will always be cherished. He loved cutting out bird houses for the grand kids and kids at camp to build and paint. In the summer you could find Dick at his Campsite at Pearl Lake in Redgranite, living it up and having many fish fries with all his neighbors. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and taking care of his pigeons and chickens. He leaves behind his wife Connie and 6 children, Richard (Lynn) Boeing of Berlin, Julie {Randy) Marsh of Brandon, Joe (Michelle) Boening of Springlake, Brian (Arlene) Svendby of Fond du Lac, Chris {David) Dretske of Berlin, Linda (Steve) Brewer of Wasilla, Alaska, and son-in-law Cliff Sertle of Redgranite. He is further survived by18 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, his fur baby Muffin who stayed close to his side and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, David Boening, Carl Boening, Betty Schoonover, Catherine Hopperditzel and infant brother James. Daughter Lori Sertle, and two grandchildren, Billi Kaufman and Ruthie Boening. Family and friends may visit with the family and pay their respects to Dick on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 4 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday October 24, 2022, from 9-11:00 a.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 24, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at all Saints Catholic Parish with Father Anthony Thirumalareddy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery of Berlin. All are invited back to the Parish Hall for a luncheon and a time for sharing.
