Doris Werch

Doris Marie Meingasner Werch passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Eureka, Wisconsin during the early hours of Thursday October 6th, 2022. She was surrounded throughout the previous day and evening by her loving sons, Chudley, David and Michael and their significant others, wife Lauren, Mary and Sheila, respectively along with other family and friends. Doris was born on July 20, 1934 on the south side of Chicago to her parents Edward and Genevieve Meingasner. Growing up she was educated in Catholic schools which shaped and guided the rest of her life as a faithful servant of God, and a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She met her now deceased husband, Chud Leigh Werch in Chicago as he was being discharged from the Army. Shortly thereafter they married and moved to Berlin, Wisconsin. Over the course of their early marriage they also lived in Chicago, Oshkosh and eventually settled in Eureka, Wisconsin. Doris had a positive influence in the lives of many friends and relatives over her long life of 88 years. She was not only a loving friend, relative and neighbor, but a truly generous and giving person who recognized the needs of others. She was an outstanding mother. She loved her children unconditionally. She will be remembered by many she befriended, helped and served. She is now in the best of hands with God and her loved ones who preceded her. She leaves behind a large legacy of three sons and grandchildren Jason, Brittany (Ben), Daniel (Rebecca), Anthony, Bryan, David, John Paul, Rachel (Oliver), Evan, Emily (Dakota), Kayla and Hayley along with many cherished great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her youngest brother Roy Meingasner and his wife Allie and many nieces and nephews of who she had a close and loving relationship with. She joins her deceased youngest son Scott and husband Chud Leigh along with brothers Edward, Robert, and John. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 12th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Omro, Wisconsin. Visitation with family members will begin at 11:00am, followed by a Mass at 1:00pm. After Mass, a short service will be held at the Eureka Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held following services at the cemetery at Country Inn, W3005 Cty Rd F four miles west of Berlin from 3-6:00 p.m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church will live stream the celebration of life Mass.
