Daniel Soda

Daniel Roman Soda (Hey Dan), 62 of Berlin passed away on March 21st, 2023 at his home. Dan was a kind and generous man; he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Dan was born September 12th, 1960 to Raymond and Joan Soda. Dan graduated from Berlin High School in 1978. He was a very hard worker and made a living doing fabricating and welding of steel/metal. Dan met the love of his life, Tina Martin. They got married on August 11th, 1990, and would have been married 33 years this year. Dan loved being outdoors. Hunting and fishing were his passion. He loved fishing with his brothers and son-in-law (the son he never had). He was a diehard Packers fan and never missed watching a game. Dan was a true family man, he loved going to family outings and spending time with his family. He took pride in attending his daughter Brittany’s cheerleading events and all of her accomplishments through life. “Fishing in the dark” was a special song his stepdaughter Nicole always requested for him on the radio. He enjoyed taking a ride to Chicos Landing and shooting the breeze with the guys. Dan is survived by his wife, Tina; daughter, Brittany (Luke) VanZeeland; step-daughter, Nicole Martin; his 3 grandsons that were his entire world, Leshad Conner, Dramon Edwards and Brody VanZeeland; his siblings, Rick, Doug, Tim Soda and sister ,Ann (Tom) Hoepfner. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law Mahlon (Whitey) and Patricia Martin; sisters-in-law Tammy (Rocky) Branson, Tracy Martin; and brother-in-law, Chad (Jessi) Martin, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Dan will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand will be remembered forever. His love for his family, friends, and the outdoors was contagious, and his absence will leave a void in the lives of all who knew him. Dans legacy will live on through the memories he shared with those closest to him, and the impact he made in the lives of everyone he touched. A celebration of life with be held Sunday April 23rd, 2023, from Noon-4:00 p.m. at the VFW hall in Berlin.
