Billi Jo Kaufman

Billi Jo Kaufman, age 46, lifelong resident of Berlin, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday September 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, after her valiant battle against cancer. Billi was born on February 17, 1976, in Ripon, Wisconsin. Billi graduated from Berlin High School in 1994, attended UW Madison and received her certification in their farming short course. She married Shawn Kaufman, her high school sweetheart, on September 26, 1998. Billi Jo worked as a veterinarian technician, and was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses in Berlin and Ripon over the years. Billi received her Real Estate license in 2005. She along with Tom Malchetske formed Team Malchetske in 2009. She was proud of the team motto.."In Berlin, From Berlin, For Berlin". She was well-known and respected by her clients and peers. Her strong ethics and easy smile made her very successful in her career. Billi earned many awards during her almost 20 years in the real estate industry and will be greatly missed by her collogues. Billi often donated various items to local events and charities. Billi was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and community member. Billi was a member and served on the Berlin Chamber of Commerce bringing many events to the Berlin community. Billi was the chair of Pumpkins on Petunias in downtown Berlin for multiple years. She was an active member of the faith community of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Berlin where she served on the school board and volunteered with the Ladies’ Aide. Billi and Shawn lived and raised their family starting in Berlin for 10 years then moved to Rush Lake area, where they built their dream home where they often hosted gatherings and spontaneous fish frys. Her pride and joy were her children, Karson and Violet. Billi and Shawn enjoyed traveling to warm tropical places having made trips to Jamaica and Punta Cana. She enjoyed helping on the Kaufman family farm and supporting their venture of the Petals and Plows Greenhouse. Billi was a person full of love, passion, compassion, loyalty and life. Billi will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Shawn, of 23 years; two children, Karson and Violet: her parents Richard and Lynn Boening; sister, Stacy Malzhan of Little Suamico, WI; and brother Andy Boening (Natasha Veeramallay, fiancé) of Little Canada, MN. She is further survived by many relatives, including her nieces and nephews, Brianna, Lindsey, Linden, Layton, Jaxson, Cora, Case and Noah, aunts, uncles, godchildren, coworkers and many friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to the ThedaCare Oncology team, ThedaCare at Home, especially Stacey and Angie, for their compassionate care of Billi and her family, and Pastor Mundinger. Family and friends may visit with the family and pay their respects to Billi on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 4–7:00p.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin and also on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 9-11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Berlin with a funeral service to follow with Pastor Paul Mundinger officiating. Burial will follow services at Nepeuskun Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
